Children

Image Egyptian are extremely indulgent towards children, you will find there are welcomed everywhere, including hotels and restaurants mosques and archaeological sites. It is the lack of fussiness towards children, however that can expose a child to accident. Be alert to untended excavations and traffic, for example and be sure that your children observe careful hygiene, and are well protected with clothing, hats and sunglasses against sun. The better hotels can provide childminders, and medical services are excellent.

Children may well take more readily to strangeness of their environment than you do., and they will probably find the dress, the scent and the bustle of the bazaar more interesting than a museum or tomb. Carriages and camel rides, and sailing in a felucca are particular favourites. Sound and light shows will be mysterious and fun. Floating and outdoor restaurants will seem novel, and certain theme eating places out by the pyramids have been designed with children very much in mind.

Additionally there are a number of attractions – pharaonic villages and the like with a local flavour – which aim especially at children.
